You need to know that:
- the donor is selected according to basic characteristics of the receiver for example physical characteristics, hair color, eyes, race and blood type.

- the donor is selected after careful evaluation of family history, personal history, psychological evaluation and blood exams to exclude transmittable genetic diseases and infectious diseases.

- the Italian regulations are much stricter than other European countries, as a result there are fewer donors, on the other hand, there are greater guarantees to the receiver.

- the donation is and will always remain anonymous in Italy. For procedures done in Italy, the National Transplant Center, the designated body of control, will always be capable of retracing the genetic health of the donor to protect the unborn child and the couple.
